It is exciting news for those with Alzheimer’s disease, those with loved ones with Alzheimer’s, and those at risk for developing the disease. Three studies are going to focus on gene mutations that cause Alzheimer’s disease with certainty, those that have the mutation, and those that have no known mutations, but are starting to show signs of the disease when looking at brain scans.
The Alzheimer’s Association has given 4.2 million dollars in a grant, hoping that researches can discover if any of the drugs being tested will demonstrate that they work. If so, especially with individuals that show no signs, it will reveal that Alzheimer’s disease may be preventable. To learn more about this groundbreaking study, read here.
